Adobe Premiere Pro is a great new NLE from Adobe that has one minor flaw: it allows for multiple duplicate internal references to the same source media files. This feature becomes a problem when Premiere's audio conforming feature kicks in and conforms not each media file, but each reference to each media file, resulting in gross waste of time and hard drive space.

I wrote a little utility that scans a Premiere Pro project file for such duplicate references, and creates a new, cleaned up, project file. I've only tested this on a couple of projects, so your results may vary and I make no guarantees whatsoever. The good news is that my program does not alter your original file in any way, so you should be no worse off than when you started.

The program requires that you have Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 installed. You can download it off of the Windows Update web site.

If you run into any problems with the program or if you have thoughts on how I can improve it, please don't hesitate to let me know. Also, this program is freeware but if it saved you time and you feel overly grateful, I do have a PayPal account. Send me an email if you'd like to contribute to it. ;-)
